If Prater signs the franchise tender, he’ll remain with the Broncos for somewhere around $2.6 million. He’ll join Jacksonville's Josh Scobee, Cincinnati’s Mike Nugent and Cleveland’s Phil Dawson as franchised kickers with the tag also possible for Connor Barth of the Buccaneers before the day is out. Prater has made more than 80 percent of his field goals since coming to Denver in 2007, including 65 percent of kicks from 40 or more yards. In 2011, he made 76 percent of his tries and 3-of-4 from 50 yards and beyond.
