Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer says all of the talk about the Eagles interest is coming from Plaxico’s side, not the Eagles. “Trust me on this,” McLane wrote.

McClane went on to point out the Eagles already have deep speed at wideout in DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. They have a good slot receiver (Jason Avant) and a promising No. 4 wideout with size (Riley Cooper.) More importantly, they have more pressing needs. ... So PFT's Gregg Rosenthal believes it comes down to whether Burress wants to win or start -- because there doesn't appear to be a starting job (or starting contract) waiting in Philadelphia. Indeed, St. Louis and Washington might have greater need and interest. ... Whatever the case, Burress, who gets out of jail on Monday, will have to wait until the lockout ends before he can sign with a new team.
