The Facts:
Following up on
an ongoing story. ... There's a new regime in Denver led by John Elway and John Fox. And they apparently don't believe in Moreno, a former first-round draft pick who has rushed for 1,726 yards and 12 touchdowns in two NFL seasons. "People on the inside at Dove Valley were undecided on Moreno as a No. 1 pick, but, since then, they have decided: He's not a big-time RB," wrote Denver Post columnist Woody Paige, who recently interviewed Elway. "He doesn't have the skill set or the mind-set."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Paige added: "That's why I've been pumping Carolina's DeAngelo Williams long before the Broncos hired John Fox or admitted they needed another RB. Williams can be a first- and second-down back. ..." Paige's speculation jibes with recent reporting by others, who believe Moreno will be
relegated to a third-down role, something his 65 career receptions suggest he'll be capable of handling. ... Williams aside, Paige reports the other potential free agents (depending on the collective bargaining agreement), the Broncos will consider are Jerome Harrison, Michael Bush, Jerious Norwood, Jason Snelling and, the best of the bunch, Ahmad Bradshaw.
