Moss in a Jets uniform? It could happen. In the past day two well-respected NFL writers, Mike Freeman of cbssports.com and Vic Carucci of nfl.com, wrote the Jets have definite interest in Moss.

Among several free agents, the Jets have WRs Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith. While re-signing Holmes is said to be a priority, the Jets could lose one or more of the three. Enter Moss, another big target. Considering his performance in Tennessee, most teams aren’t going to waste their time with a 34-year-old receiver with diminishing skills, let alone one who’s known as a problem child. But HC Rex Ryan could be interested. As Freeman noted, Ryan recently raved about Moss, and several league sources told him the team is seriously intrigued by Moss. Carucci cites multiple league insiders as saying the interest the Jets have in Moss is twofold. One, it could help them weather the very real possibility of losing at least one of the above-mentioned free agents. Two, it would keep Moss from returning to the Patriots, whom he is known to want to re-join. ... As Globe staffer Greg Bedard summed up: "Should make things interesting post lockout."
