Brandon Marshall Working His Way Back To Sub-4.5 Speed
(4/12 6:45 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... Marshall has catered his offseason training program toward regaining the sub-4.5 speed he had coming out the University of Central Florida by working with speed specialists from Fit Speed Inc. "I just want that football speed back, getting to where I can break the cushion on those [defensive backs] and be able to stretch the field," said Marshall. Reported by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Marshall, who caught 86 passes for 1,014 yards and scored three touchdowns in 14 games for the Dolphins last season, said the hip surgeries he's undergone the past two offseasons chipped away at his ability to separate from cornerbacks. As previously noted, this is the first offseason he's not rehabbing any kind of injury, which means it was the perfect time to get back to the basics. "My plan is to get back to where I was in 2006 and 2007, where I was so explosive and my drive off the ball [was forceful]. Working with Fit Speed helped me run a 4.4 at my Pro Day and I'm trying to get back to that," Marshall said. He's also excited about the changes being made to the Dolphins' offense, which is under the direction of Brian Daboll, who replaces Dan Henning. Marshall has talked to Daboll, hearing his vision and goals for 2011, and it's no secret that the passing game will be built around the Dolphins' alpha receiver who received a five-year, $43.7 million contract last offseason.
