Mike Williams Has Ample Reason To Watch His Weight
(4/6 10:40 PT)

The Facts:
Williams has a $500,000 roster bonus due on the seventh day of the league year, league sources confirmed. So if he shows up out of shape when the team reports after the lockout is over, the team could decline to pay it, thus making him a free agent. Reported by FOXSports.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Williams, who started 13 games last season for the Seahawks, posted 65 receptions for 751 and two touchdowns (all career highs). As FOXSports.com's Adam Caplan notes, Williams deserves a ton of credit for keeping his weight down and for starting to scratch his potential — something he never did previously in his career. Williams signed a three-year extension worth $11.25 million, which included a $500,000 signing bonus. However, if he doesn’t stay in line off the field, he won’t see most of it. Also included in the contract is a reporting bonus of $500,000. He also has per game roster bonuses totaling $250,000. And most interesting of all is a weight clause worth $150,000. His total take for the first season is $3.75 million, which also includes $150,000 in workout bonuses. The Seahawks also included per game roster bonuses, workout bonuses and a weight clause in the final two years of his deal. Considering Williams has ballooned up to as much as 270 pounds at times during his career, it makes sense.
