Judge Asks Why Two Sides Aren't In Mediation
(4/6 12:15 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on today's big story. ... Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe reports Judge Susan Nelson listened to the players arguments and the lawyer for Carl Eller and the former players before calling another break in the proceedings. The hearing will continue shortly with the NFL's response to Eller and the former players. Reported by the Redzone.org

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Worth noting: Judge Nelson indicated the thing she's having a hard time with is a lockout being legal after a union decertification. Even more noteworthy, Nelson asked why the two sides are not in mediation now. As Profootballtalk.com notes, if mediation was ordered this time, it would be with a judge, not a mediator (meaning the process would have some teeth). ... Also: The NFL’s attorney, David Boies, spent a lot more time answering questions from Judge Nelson than Jim Quinn, the attorney for the players. Bedard also avised his Twitter followers that “Nelson was very prepared. Said this is all she’s done for two weeks. ...” Stay tuned. More to come.
