Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports both the NFL and NFLPA are waiting on more instructions from mediator George Cohen about what the night will hold and talking among themselves. Jeff Pash tells the media no more talks scheduled til the AM, but would return tonight if asked by the mediator.

Per La Canfora, the NFL negotiating party has left the building. Pash didnt rule out an extension and said there was no new discussion of opening of books. ... Meanwhile, NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith took to his Twitter page and typed the following message: “Players stay strong! Stay informed, update by 2pm tomorrow.” The labor deal currently expires at 5:00 p.m. ET Friday, three hours after the promised update. As Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio notes, the current options are: "(1) new deal, which is extremely unlikely by tomorrow; (2) new extension, which is possible but fading; or (3) decertification and litigation. ..."
