Carroll: Matt Hasselbeck Should Play This Week
(11/1 7:48 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the previous item. ... Hasselbeck suffered a concussion during Sunday's game in Oakland, but HC Pete Carroll said indications are the QB will be able to return this week. "You still have to go through the process to make sure he's all right," Carroll said, "but we think he'll play." Reported by the Seattle Times

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Hasselbeck was sacked eight times Sunday, and he did not finish the game, replaced by Charlie Whitehurst. At the time the switch was made, it seemed something to get the starter out of harm's way in a game that was out of reach. But Hasselbeck did not answer questions after the game because of injuries. "He got banged up just kind of in general," Carroll said. "He did get hit in the head, and had some headaches or something like that. ..." Did he suffer a concussion? "I think that's what they're calling it because whenever you get hit in the head, you have to call it something," Carroll said. Anybody else find it interesting how coaches have become so reluctant to use the "c word" now that concussions draw so much scrutiny?
