HC Steve Spagnuolo said Monday that he didn't expect Alexander back for the team's next game, Nov. 14 at San Francisco.

Still, Spagnuolo passed along some good news about Alexander, who on Friday underwent the fifth surgery on his left knee, this one to repair cartilage damage. "The surgery went well," Spagnuolo said. "And when they did go in there and saw everything, what Dr. (Matt) Matava said was that the (previous) surgeries that he had looked good. So he has to feel good about that. ..." The initial reports suggested a 2-4 week timetable. Don't be surprised if it's closer to the high end.
