The Facts:
First, Patriots HC Bill Belichick said there had been “no” change in his philosophy about signing any other free agents. But then, he was pressed a little. ... A reported asked him specifically if he or the Pats had ruled out signing Vick. “Have we ruled it out?” Belichick asked. “I don’t know that it’s ruled in or ruled out. I don’t think it’s ever been put that way, so I can’t answer that.” Are you interested in signing Vick? "You know, I think we would consider… Well, we’re coaching the players we have on the field right now, who’s here,” he continued. “Anybody who isn’t here. ... Is there a potential they could be here? Yeah, there probably is."

As Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio notes Belichick is the only NFL coach, owner, or G.M. who has addressed the prospect of signing Vick with anything other than a flat "not at this time" or "not ever. ..." While that by no means suggest the Patriots are actively pursuing Vick, it's certainly interesting. ... Stay tuned.
