Brandon Pettigrew Agrees To Terms With Lions
(8/1 12:8 PT)

The Facts:
Pettigrew has signed a five-year deal with the Lions, though the sides are still hammering out final details. Reported by the Detroit Free Press

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
All indications are the Lions will count on Pettigrew to move into the starting lineup from the get go. In addition to being an above-average receiver (who gained more than 40 percent of his yardage in college after the catch), Pettigrew is also considered a strong in-line blocker. The coaching staff believes he'll do well in both departments. "To be an every-down tight end in this league you have to have some special physical qualities as well," OC Scott Linehan explained. "He will be a big factor in our offense whether we're throwing the ball or running. ..." A full training camp will help the cause.
