Cassel has reportedly agreed to terms on a six-year contract that includes $36 million in guaranteed money, according to Mike Lombardi of NFL Network. Reported by Profootballtalk.com

The National Football Post now has this story online while SI.com's Peter King is refuting it. ... As PFT's Aaron Wilson notes, if the report is correct, Cassel's deal falls well short of the $41.7 million in guarantees picked up by Matthew Stafford, the Lions’ pending top overall draft pick. Still, Cassel's new deal isn't too bad for a guy that didn't start a single game during his collegiate career and given his limited starting experience as a pro. ... Stay tuned.
