NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock characterizes him as the "best pass protector in the draft." Should be the Jags starter at left tackle for years to come. Although he's had knee problems in past seasons, Monroe made it through 2008 without issues. According to his NFL.com scouting report, many experts feel that Monroe's strength, technique and hand placement is superior to former Virginia first-round offensive linemen, D'Brickashaw Ferguson (New York Jets) and Branden Albert (Kansas City).
