Although he lacks high-end speed, Santa Rosa Press-Democrat staffer Matt Maiocco believes Crabtree might have been No. 1 on the Niners' board. According to his NFL.com scouting report, Crabtree earned Fred Biletnikoff Award honors in each of his two college seasons. A model of consistency, he put together a string of 13 consecutive games with at least one touchdown and five receptions, tying an NCAA mark. He'll provide the Niners with a legitimate playmaker -- as long as new OC Johnny Raye can take advantage of the newcomer's skills.
