Pittman will miss four to six weeks with a cracked fibula, HC Scott Linehan announced Monday. Pittman suffered the injury on special teams early in Sunday's 37-13 loss to Seattle. "It wasn’t a contact thing," Linehan said.

The primary backup to Steven Jackson, Pittman has carried just once for six yards in three games. A fourth-round pick in 2007, Pittman ran for 138 yards on 38 carries in 11 games as a rookie. The injury should clear the way for Brian Leonard to rejoin the ranks of game-day actives.
