Manning threw to running backs, worked with his fellow QBs, worked on moving around the pocket. All in all, Manning looked pretty much his normal self in his first preseason practice since July 14 surgery on his left knee.

The Colts officially removed Manning from the PUP list earlier today. ... Star beat writer Mike Chappell added that reporters were allowed to watch only about a half-hour of today's practice, but it was enough to see Manning take a significant step in his road to recovery. There's still no guarantee he'll play in the regular-season opener Sept. 7, and it's extremely unlikely he'll play in Thursday's final pre-season game. But this is clearly a step in the right direction.
