Boller is facing a serious shoulder injury, but does not need surgery at this time, GM Ozzie Newsome said today. "Kyle Boller could play again this season," Newsome explained. "That could change, but this is good news."

Boller will miss his second straight game tomorrow night with the injury. It's still not clear if Troy Smith, sidelined by an illness the last week, will be ready to play in the exhibition opener. Either way, with Boller and Smith both missing time, Joe Flacco continues to gain valuable experience -- experience that might come into play sooner than anybody would have guessed a week ago.
