FOXSports.com has learned that the Dolphins have struck a deal with the Cowboys for Fasano and linebacker Akin Ayodele. Draft picks were involved in the trade. When contacted, Fasano has confirmed the trade, but details are still being gathered.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys received a fourth-round pick in return for the two men. Fasano was a second-round draft pick in 2006, but failed to lock down the No. 2 spot behind Jason Witten with Tony Curtis, who wound up splitting time with Fasano as the 2007 season wore down. The fact that all three passes Curtis pulled in last year went for touchdowns probably made the decision to deal Fasano a bit easier.
