Randy Moss Officially Available... For Now
(2/28 9:38 PT)

The Facts:
The NFL’s salary bonanza, otherwise known as free agency, got under way at 12:01 a.m. Friday. The biggest name on the market is Moss, who set a league record with 23 touchdown passes in his one season with the New England Patriots. Reported by The Sports Ticker

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Moss, who came to a Patriots in a lopsided draft-day deal with the Oakland Raiders in 2007, was not designated as a franchise player by New England. Last season, Moss signed a one-year deal worth $3 million with the Patriots, leaving two years and nearly $20 million from his previous contract with Oakland on the table. Speculation abounds that Moss will re-sign (with Minneapolis Star Tribune columnist Sid Hartman suggesting the star WR is already "signed, sealed and delivered") with the Patriots, but there certainly hasn't been an announcement of such. Meanwhile, ESPN insider John Clayton is reporting the two sides have yet to reach an agreement, but negotiations are ongoing. ... Needless to say, we'll be following this one closely. Stay tuned.
