GM: Time Isn't Right To Redo Kellen Winslow's Contract
(2/28 7:59 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... Despite meeting with agent Drew Rosenhaus at the combine, GM Phil Savage said "right now is not the right time" to be talking about a renegotiation for Winslow.  Reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Savage said the Browns showed "tremendous patience" after Winslow's motorcycle accident and that free agency and the draft will come first. He also said it's Winslow's decision not to have his dislocated shoulder repaired. "I'm not going to say one way or the other whether we'd prefer it or not," he said. "It's his body. He sought some different opinions including our own people and he's opted not to do it at this particular time." In case you missed it, Columbus Dispatch staffer James Walker reported the team was using Winslow's reluctance to have the shoulder fixed as a reason for holding off on a new deal.
