The Facts:
According to the Sporting News, Kurt Warner is the front-runner to start the opener, but he has much to prove after a shaky June. His experience should carry him, unless rookie Eli Manning forces his way into the lineup.

Rob Zarzycki's View:
I have little doubt that Kurt Warner will be named the starter in September. My concern is how well Kurt can play without the powerhouse weapons he had in St. Louis with Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt, and Isaac Bruce. If Kurt cannot gain proper chemistry with the Giants' Tiki Barber, Amani Toomer, and Ike Hilliard I can see Coach Tom Coughlin pulling the quick hook so the young star, Eli Manning, can start to accumulate some experience for the future. I'm leaning towards Warner having a successful season in New York, but it's not much of a lean.
