The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... Jacobs, released yesterday by the Giants, turns 30 on July 6, getting up there in age for a big, bruising back. Still, Jacobs believes he can still play. "I got about three good [seasons] left in me, no question ... guaranteed three more years left in me," he told The Post, and said he wouldn't mind spending his remaining years with the Jets. "I would love to do that,' Jacobs said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Post staffer Paul Schwartz reminded readers, it was last Christmas Eve at MetLife Stadium when the Giants administered a 29-14 beatdown on the Jets and afterward, as their paths crossed on the field, a fired-up Jacobs shouted "It's time to shut up, fat boy!' directly into the ears of Jets HC Rex Ryan. Is it possible the next words Jacobs says to Ryan were "Got a job for me, Coach?" Jacobs isn't worried. Asked about calling the Jets coach "a disrespectful bastard' after this season's game, Jacobs replied: "That whole thing with Rex Ryan - me and Rex are alike, that's what it is. We definitely could get along, no question about it. There were a lot of things said in the heat of the battle. It's football. ... I like Rex as a coach, I would definitely play for him. ..." With new OC Tony Sparano bringing his run-heavy approach to the Jets, they will be looking for somebody to join Shonn Greene in their backfield. It's not clear they're looking to pay top dollar, however.
