Report: Saints Interested After Randy Moss Ran Sub-4.5 (Sub-4.4 Even?) 40
(3/6 4:26 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... Moss worked out for the Saints on Tuesday -- his first since saying he was done being retired -- and the initial reports suggest it went very well. Adding to those initial reports, league sources tell sportsNOLA.com that Moss had an "off-the-charts workout" that included running the 40-yard dash in the 4.39 to 4.4-second range. One of the sources in the report described Moss as being more impressive than anticipated and in great shape. Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As previously noted, FOXSports insider Jay Glazer took to Twitter to report that Moss "lit it up" during his workout in which he ran about 45 pass routes and "looked like the old Randy," according to multiple sources. ... According to the sportsNOLA.com report, Moss spoke with Saints officials after the workout, including GM Mickey Loomis and HC Sean Payton. The sources confirmed to the website that there is a strong chance of the sides reaching a deal. But with Moss reportedly set to visit other teams, it seems reasonable to believe the veteran wideout will continue his free-agent tour in hopes of building up his value. The fact he apparently demonstrated close to the 4.3 speed he recently boasted is a good sign. Whatever the case, it's safe to say after a forgettable display with the Patriots, Vikings and Titans in 2010, Tuesday's workout could be the first sign an early market will form for Moss.
