Plaxico Burress Open To Returning To Giants?
(3/6 4:14 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... Burress spurned the Giants offer last season to return but the veteran wide receiver is set to become an unrestricted free agent next week and now considers the Giants “always a great possibility.’’ Reported by the New York Post

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Of course, as Post staffer Paul Schwartz notes, it takes two to make a deal, and it is highly unlikely the Giants will be interested in re-signing Burress, who returned to the NFL with the Jets last year after spending 20 months in prison on an illegal weapons charge. The player who caught the game-winning touchdown pass four years ago in Super Bowl XLII after completing his sentence had plenty of negative things to say about HC Tom Coughlin and opted not to accept the Giants offer last summer, preferring instead to get a fresh start with the Jets. Burress is now listing the Giants, Jets, Eagles and Steelers as teams he’s most interested in playing for and has made no secret the Eagles are his first choice. The Giants are bracing for the loss in free agency of Mario Manningham as their No. 3 receiver but as Schwartz suggested, it would take a leap of faith for them to reach out to Burress again. The Eagles still seem the most likely suitor.
