Wells was close to playing against the Seahawks HC Ken Whisenhunt said, but the Cardinals didn't want to risk a setback. If Wells had aggravated his injured hamstring and missed the next three games, it would have been a lousy decision, Whisenhunt said.  Reported by FootballDiehards.com

The coach is hopeful that Wells and LaRod Stephens-Howling (hand) will play this week against the Giants. As Republic staffer Kent Somers notes, if Wells participates in all of practice Wednesday through Friday, then we can be fairly sure he's playing. But if he's limited it gets trickier. Wells said today that he will definitely play against the Giants. But we heard that last week, too, before the Seahawks game. ... Stay tuned.
