Britt was arrested on April 12 and charged with eluding a police officer, lying to an officer hindering apprehension and obstructing governmental function following a stop. Eluding an officer is a third-degree felony. According to the report by PFW correspondent and Tennessean writer Jim Wyatt, Hudson County prosecutor Edward DeFazio said Britt faces three disorderly person charges in addition to motor vehicle charges, but no longer is charged with a felony. This wasn't Britt's first brush with the law. He was involved in a bar fight last October, received a misdemeanor citation for driving on a revoked license last offseason and had theft-by-deception charges downgraded to a misdemeanor after not following through on a pledge to pay bail earlier this offseason. ... Britt had 775 receiving yards on 42 catches with nine touchdowns in 12 games last season, his second in the NFL.
