The Facts:
Avery has a good handle on his situation right now. A real good handle on it. How else do you explain the precision with which he has described his health as he completes his recovery from
a torn ACL suffered in his right knee during a pre-season game last year? Avery tells Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he’s “a good 92-93 percent” back from the injury.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
If that is the case, it’s terrific news for the Rams, who even with Avery still have a thin depth chart at WR, one stocked with rookies. “Just trying to get back up to speed,” Avery said Wednesday at the Rams’ player-run practice. Sounds like he's getting there. In fact, Avery claims he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds last week. That would be the kind of speed he had pre-injury. The injury has led Avery to refine every aspect of his training too. “I slimmed down a little bit,” Avery told Thomas. “I got up to 203 (pounds) but I didn't feel comfortable with it. So right now I'm like 190, 191. It's like 3.8 percent body fat. ... It's training right, eating a lot of proteins, and just working on my speed. ...” Given Sam Bradford's progress as a rookie, Fantasy Football owners will want to keep a close eye on Avery and the rest of the team's receiving corps once the lockout ends; somebody in St. Louis is going to catch a lot of passes.
