Speculation – or hope in some corners – in Philadelphia has been that the team has a deal in place and just needs to the league to start the new league year for a trade to be executed. Not so fast says Reid. According to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, Reid said a number of teams expressed interest in Kolb prior to the lockout beginning but that to his understanding rules didn’t change during the brief lifting of the lockout. “You weren't supposed to finalize any deals and even get into that type of talk about deals,” Reid said. ... As NFP staffer Brad Biggs notes, Kolb is signed through this season and considering the Eagles’ commitment to Michael Vick, it would be very surprising if he is an Eagle when the regular season finally begins.
