Shaun Hill Working Six Days After Back Surgery
(5/17 3:32 PT)

The Facts:
Hill is taking part on a limited basis in player-organized workouts with his Lions teammates after undergoing back surgery Wednesday. Hill, who played through a broken forearm and broken finger in starting 10 games in place of Matthew Stafford last year, did some jogging and light throwing in a workout with about 35 teammates today at Birmingham Detroit Country Day. Reported by the Detroit Free Press

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Hill, whose contract voids after the 2011 season, said he was told he’d be game-ready in four to six weeks. He does not expect to miss any training camp -- whenever that occurs, given the NFL lockout. During workouts Monday and today, he has thrown only short and intermediate passes, leaving longer routes for fellow QB Stafford, Drew Stanton and Zac Robinson. “It’s been great,” Hill said. “I’m six days post-op, and I’m running a little bit. I can’t throw extended stuff. The rotation, I don’t want to overdo it there. But I feel great. I’m glad I did it. Wish I would have done it earlier. ...” For what it's worth, WRs Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson were among the Lions at today’s workout. The locked-out players have scheduled two more sessions Wednesday and Thursday.
