Profootballtalk.com) suggested during an ESPNews appearance, HC Bill Belichick may think it makes more sense to play it safe with Welker and keep him out of some drills that could tax his surgically repaired knee even if the medical staff says Welker is ready to go. The thinking is that Belichick is a lot more concerned about having Welker on the field for Week 1 of the regular season than he is about having Welker on the field for Day 1 of training camp. Remember: The fact that Welker might be ready for Week 1 -- just nine months after suffering a torn ACL -- and eight months after reconstructive surgery to repair it -- is no mean feat. ...
