The Facts:
Hixon's "hyperextension" knee turned into a torn ACL according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. He will have surgery in 2-3 weeks and he is done for the year.

Hixon was injured during Tuesday's mini-camp practice. From a Fantasy perspective, Hixon's loss won't affect the offense much with Steve Smith, Hakim Nicks and Mario Manningham more than capable of filling the top three spots. But his absence will be felt on special teams. Hixon was second in the league in punt return average last year and is the team's best kick returner. ... Worth noting: It appears Hixon's injury was caused by the FieldTurf at the New Meadowlands Stadium. It's safe to assume the Giants and Jets (both of whom will play there this fall) will continue to investigate that angle.
