The Steelers announced today they placed Sweed on the Reserve/Injured List today after clearing NFL waivers.

Sweed was Waived/Injured on Monday after injuring his Achilles’ tendon during the final day of the team’s mandatory mini-camp on May 2. He underwent surgery last week and his availability for the 2010 season was in serious question. Now it's not. Because Sweed has cleared waivers, he will not count against the Steelers’ 80-man roster limit. He will miss the entire 2010 season while recovering from his injury.
