The Texans have been prominently mentioned as a possible destination for Tomlinson, who was released by the Chargers earlier this week. Texans general manager Rick Smith didn't sound against signing L.T. on Friday. In fact, the team is "entertaining the idea," he said.

"He's had a tremendous career and would offer a veteran presence and a lot of qualities that a lot of teams would be looking for. … He certainly has had a wonderful career, and I think he has something left in the future. ..."
