The Eagles on Tuesday afternoon removed quarterback Michael Vick from the Exempt List and added him to their 53-man roster and released wide receiver Hank Baskett.

Vick is eligible to practice when the team resumes its work on Wednesday. He is not eligible to play in a game until Week 3. Clearly, the Eagles want to get Vick back on the practice field to get him ready to play in some capacity as quickly as possible. ... Baskett signed and looked forward to a significant role in the offense. However, the Eagles drafted Jeremy Maclin in the first round of April's draft and then added Brandon Gibson in the sixth round. Both players had strong performances this summer and the Eagles carried seven wide receivers on their 53-man roster through the first week of the season. Not any more.
