The Facts:
Jets HC Rex Ryan had nothing but high praise for holdout RB Leon Washington Thursday and said he fully expects both Washington and veteran Thomas Jones to attend next month's veteran mini-camp and be in the lineup on opening day in Houston. "When we go to play on the first game at Houston, I believe both of them will be with us and ready to go," said Ryan.

Ryan admitted that he was taken aback by Washington's decision to suddenly boycott the workouts, especially after he had attended all the session up until Monday and had publicly stated he would continue to do so during contract negotiations. Washington, who is scheduled to earn $535,000 in 2009 in the final year of his contract, is looking for a new deal worth roughly $6 million per season. His agent, Alvin Keels, expressed optimism that a deal will be done soon. Jones, meanwhile, shouldn't get his hopes up in that regard.
