Star staffer Mike Chappell was unable to reach either coach for comment, but Larry Kennan, executive director of the NFL Coaches Association, told Chappell he expects Mudd to file his retirement papers today. Team president Bill Polian declined an interview request from the Star to discuss the situation but told USA Today "I anticipate that they will retire. ..." Stay tuned. The impact of losing a pair of offensive cornerstones would be significant.
