The NFL has given Lynch a three-game suspension for violating the personal conduct policy, ESPN.com's Michael Smith is reporting. An announcement could come as soon as Thursday.

Lynch would have 10 days to appeal NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's decision, but the former first-round draft pick previously admitted as suspension was coming and he didn't sound like he intended to fight it. Assuming the report is correct (and there is no successful appeal), Fred Jackson would be expected to move into the starting role until Lynch returns. ... Stay tuned.
