As PFT's Mike Florio pointed out, even though the man who imposed the sentence is the same man who'll decide whether to change the sentence, Goodell hasn't been bashful about reducing penalties on appeal. Last year, for example, the commissioner cut receiver Brandon Marshall's suspension via the appeal process. ... We'll remind you that nothing is guaranteed in terms of a reduction and that Lynch knew the suspension was coming -- although ESPN's Michael Smith is reporting the former first-round pick will appeal. Whatever the case, we'll have more on this one when the suspension is officially announced.
