Fitzgerald might be on the cover of EA's Madden NFL 10, according to a league source, and he might not be alone. Steelers safety Troy Polamalu might appear with him. EA will reveal its cover on April 24, the day before draft weekend.

As Republic staffer Kent Somers suggested, Fitzgerald's potential appearance on the cover isn't good news for Cardinals fans who believe in a Madden curse; that goes double for Fantasy owners. Several players who have appeared on the cover, including Michael Vick, Shaun Alexander and Donovan McNabb, suffered injuries the following season. Vince Young's career has taken a nose dive since his appearance and last year's cover boy, Brett Favre, didn't exactly have a stellar season. Things didn't go well for Barry Sanders or Marshall Faulk in their cover seasons, either.
