The Facts:
The Browns intend to pay a $5 million roster bonus owed quarterback Anderson on Friday, GM George Kokinis indicated on Wednesay. "I don't think we've changed from when we first talked about it," Kokinis said. "We're trying to get the best players on the team and he's one of them."

The bonus is guaranteed, so the Browns have little recourse but to pay it. And -- as reported in
a recent Fantasy Notebook -- it's still not clear if the incoming Eric Mangini-Kokinis regime is completely sold on Brady Quinn. As a result, the team could to keep Anderson and let him battle Quinn for the starting job. Paying the bonus seems to be a step in that direction.
