Coughlin Remains Noncommittal On Plaxico Burress
(2/20 1:32 PT)

The Facts:
The Giants, in particular GM Jerry Reese, have publicly left the door open about a possible return by Burress to the Giants in 2009. For now, the Giants are playing the waiting game. HC TOm Coughlin reiterated on Friday that it’s the Giants’ stance to let the legal process play out, but said it was difficult to know whether to count on Burress being back. “I don’t know how you’d figure that,” Coughlin said. “For me, that’s not an easy thing to answer. I think to speculate is not a very smart move on my part. We’ll just see what happens at the end of March.” Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Burress has a court date in late March to face felony weapons charges. A possible league suspension is another matter. ... Coughlin, who has not spoken to Burress recently said other members of the organization have. The coach didn’t have a lot to say about the situation due to the pending legal process, but said the team is already prepared for any distraction it will cause.
