The Facts:
Vikings HC Brad Childress said this morning that he has talked to Frerotte, but no decision has been made on Frerotte for next season. However, Childress said Frerotte would compete with Tarvaris Jackson for the starting job if Frerotte, who has a year left on his contract, returns.

The coach also intimated that if Frerotte doesn’t return, the team would bring in another quarterback to compete for the starting job. As Star-Tribune staffer Judd Zulgad noted, what this all means is that, so far, Jackson has not been ruled out as next year’s starting quarterback.
