The Facts:
John Clayton of ESPN reports that the Cardinals are willing to pay Warner in the range of $8 million to $10 million on a two-year deal with a team option for a third season. But Warner, per Clayton, is looking for money that would put him in the neighborhood of the five highest-paid quarterbacks.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Based on 2008 cap numbers, that’s a range of $12 million (Brett Favre) to $18.7 million (Peyton Manning). In 2009, the low end will be even higher. So as PFT's Mike Florio suggests, while it’s all amicable for now, the Cardinals have six days to get something done. Otherwise, Warner will be able to sign elsewhere.
