The Facts:
According to a recent report, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones was expected to lobby his dad/owner Jerry Jones to ship Owens out of Dallas. Asked on Saturday about his role in the looming Owens' decision, Jones said "no comment."

As Star-Telegram staffer Clarence E. Hill Jr. suggests that Jones should be savvy enough to know that a "no comment" often gives one the assumption the question at hand is true and the person doesn't want to talk about it. Hill added: "If it wasn't true the person would simply say so. ..." There seems to be little doubt that the reported debate on Owens is ongoing; one reports indicates that Jerry Jones has had several players visit his home in recent days trying to see if the Owens situation can be worked out internally.
