In a pre-game interview Sunday, Warner told NBC his chances of playing football in 2009 were “50/50? regardless of whether the Cardinals won or lost. After the game, Warner reiterated that he’s still unsure about next season. “I don’t know if I’m going to play next year,” he said, per the Arizona Repulic. “I haven’t thought about that. I’m going to enjoy what we accomplished as a football team. I’m going to enjoy this great game we just played in, and I’m going to take some time away from the game and make that decision.”

As previously noted, NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Warner, who is a pending free agent, will likely be looking for a two-year deal in the neighborhood of $9 million per year. There was speculation before the Super Bowl that Warner would be more likely to call it quits if the Cardinals won. It appears much will depend on the Cardinals' willingness (or lack thereof) to meet his contract requirement. NFL Network's Marshall Faulk, a former teammate, doesn't believe Warner is interested in moving to another team. ... Stay tuned.
