The Facts:
Heading into Day 4 of training camp, HC Tony Sparano said today that he is no closer to identifying a starting a quarterback than he was entering last weekend. "I don't see anybody ahead of anybody right now when I watch what I'm seeing out there," Sparano said before today's afternoon practice.

But Sparano said he would like to see the three-man competition shake out as soon as possible, and definitely not drag on into the schedule of pre-season games, which begin Aug. 9 against Tampa Bay at Dolphin Stadium. "I think that player needs to be behind the offensive line," Sparano said. "He needs to start to find chemistry with whoever the receivers will be. If he was head and shoulders above everyone else it would be clear to us and we would start moving in that direction. ..." A quicker decision almost certainly favors seventh-year man Josh McCown (although we've seen nothing to suggest McCown can play a full season at a high level).
