The latest procedure on Jurevicius' knee, acknowledged by the Browns on July 1, was the third one to clean out a staph infection that was contracted a few weeks after Jurevicius' "routine" arthroscopic knee surgery in January. A source said there is no truth to rumors that Jurevicius may need the radical microfracture surgery to restore cartilage.

According to Plain Dealer beat writer Tony Grossi, Jurevicius will open training camp on the club's physically unable to return list. His roster status for the opening of the season depends on his recovery. It's possible he could begin the season on PUP, which would cause him to miss at least the first six weeks of the season. The Browns do not plan to add a veteran receiver for camp.
