The Facts:
The Bills took the field for their first full-squad spring workout today. Receiver Lee Evans did not participate in team drills. He had off-season shoulder surgery. But he did some individual drills. Tight end Robert Royal sat out. He had off-season knee surgery. Receiver Josh Reed, who had off-season back surgery, was catching everything in sight.

According to News staffer Mark Gaughan, the Bills definitely were not starting at square one from a speed standpoint during their first workout. The players were flying around in a no-pads, non-contact practice session that lasted 90 minutes. There was almost full participation. ... As for Evans and Royal, there's no reason to believe both men won't be ready to go at full speed well before training camp.
