Former Eagle Mike Quick says he thinks the Birds are going to make a major move at the wide receiver position. He talked about Williams and the potential that the Eagles will make a deal to acquire a wide receiver. He says there will be news on Williams before the week is out. ... That means the Cowboys, Redskins or the Eagles will probably wind up with the receiver before the week is out.

Pre-draft rumors always make things interesting. Go ahead and assume this rumor and others will increase in intensity as the week progresses. We recommend taking it all with a grain of salt -- until/unless something actually happens. We'll point out something Chargers' GM A.J. Smith told the San Diego Union Tribune: "If there's a GM who tells the truth during the month of April, he's making a mistake. I've always called it liar's month. ... Lying is simply a part of our business in April." That doesn't mean every rumor arising this week should be dismissed out of hand. But you shouldn't bank on anything until it happens. In this case, the Lions continue to insist Williams will remain with the club in 2008. We shall see.
